I realize I’ve been away for awhile, but I have a good excuse. I got very married then immediately very sick. Now that I wed and healthy I promise to post more.
So! I have two very exciting pieces of information!
First, my poem “The Captain Speaks” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize!
Second, my novel, The Cricket Prophecies, will be published next year by Post Mortem Press!
The book is about a young woman named Cassandra Washington (aka Cricket) moves to the city of Gadstone to see if she can make it on her own…and fails spectacularly. When the diner she works at burns down and she’s faced with eviction, she takes the only job she can find, at a dive bar in the bad part of town.
What she doesn’t know is that the bar has a rather…unusual clientele. It’s a place for the magical community to congregate and get a drink. When Cricket’s accidentally included in a magical contract she must learn to navigate a dark and terrifying world she can’t understand. Luckily, her boss finds it convenient to keep her alive and she’s befriended by a mischief spirit named Conn. She also discovers she has a very unique ability to see the future.
Unfortunately, as her involvement in the magical world grows, things begin to notice her…and take a very unpleasant interest.
The book will come out next year. You bet I’ll keep you updated so stay tuned!
